One thing I've found after using any apps to encode media is that on Apple TV (for me anyway) if the audio is out of sync or sounds "echoey" all I do it fast forward for a split second and then hit play and it works perfect all the time. Not sure what causes this but I've seen comments on torrent sites where people

Is there any reason to do this anymore when programs like Plex or XBMC exist? I'm not sure if XBMC has the same transcoding abilities as Plex, but let's just go ahead and assume it does.

STS-3 was NASA's third shuttle mission, taking place in 1982, and as such the team was still in testing mode. Only two astronauts were aboard this flight and as such there wasn't a whole lot of people to consult with on some of the specifics. That included where they wanted to land. The originally landing site was

I'm inclined to say Volvo.

Alternatively, the Caliber SRT-4

Fruit Brute is the real surprise - it hasn't been made since 1983.

2001 did it way before TNG.

What everybody copies: Affirmation that anything that anyone does, no matter how abhorrent, is in the end forgiven - all the perpetrator has to do is ask for it. Lots of stuff justifying the hatred and persecution of those different from the reader which is disengenuously used to maintain an "Us vs them" siege

I love Event Horizon... but I would love to see a Director's Cut. I was never disappointed by the original film, but it did always seem like it was holding back. I always assumed it was budget issues, I guess it was just overzealous editing.

wait, event horizon WASN'T awesome? i think it's massively underrated. . .

Ah, young people who think the world started the day they were born, discussing and passing judgment on things that actually happened before they were born.

Given the difference in tone (both narrator and singer) and the obvious omission of "North" when talking about 'Murica, yes, Ford is trying to drive a wedge.

I don't care what anyone says. I don't care if you think she is annoying or overrated or the antichrist. I love her. I love her movies. I love her face. I love every word that comes out of her mouth. I want to braid her hair and talk about growing up in the south and make dirty jokes and maybe make out a little.

Funny things aside,

I prefer blood oranges myself. Pity they're so hard to find where we live!

I enjoyed that series back in the day myself.

Good point. one minor shift and errors are introduced that could change scale, proportions, turn a hair into a leg, etc.... but that's why they published the findings with computations, for peer review to find problems and so they can be corrected.

As a former basic science researcher using microscopy. I'm very wary of computational manipulation to increase resolution. Any convolution requires assumptions. And the devil is in the details.

Totally agree with #6. That one reached new lows post 2008.

The Blu-Ray has both the AIP dubbing and the other dubbing. Trust me =) I watched mine just the other night. The AIP dubbing, as you know, is 100x better.
