This episode had a number of little foreshadows and callbacks worked in to it but not highlighted.

I noticed that not only was Sam right about the “no-water” prediction, but he was right that the truly bad news doesn’t come at a meeting, it comes via phone call.

The hearts on the chatea windows struck me as ominous, ironic foreshadowing.

I thought this episode was amazingly well-written - great plot, great script, great nuanced performances from the cast.

I believe plan is to seize all copies of the U.S. Constitution to use as tinder?  And thought we were supposed to round up as many copies of the Bible as possible for the main fuel.  But can we toast marshmallows over that?  I think the ink might make for toxic smoke.

Hey now, that’s kind of extreme. Despite what the right-wingers think, we’re not monsters, are we?

Don’t anyone hold their breath now.

Rand Paul.

Not only was I too old to read that, I feel I’m even older having finished it, and yet I seemed to have learned nothing at all from it. As is the case with the people involved, I suspect.

In over a year and a half of reading your material on the Root, this is the first time I’ve ever been moved to comment and tell you that your tone is shitty. Your sneering at the dancer in this news story is uncool and uncalled-for. I’m a little disappointed. I will continue to read you, but Michael, is what this

OK - in my circles, their hypocrisy has been well-established for decades, so expecting any kind of shame from them, or expecting them to hold a favored politician to any kind of moral standard isn’t even considered a possibility. It’d be more surprising if they suddenly DID stop supporting a republican for those

At one part it started reminding me of certain sequences in “Raising Arizona.”
