I found it to be disrespectful to the source material. The original had over 15 years of Kirk/Spock built up relationship behind it. We had watched and lived with those two for so long, seen and felt their friendship over the years develop, and it was heartbreaking to see Spock die and see Kirk’s reaction. The funeral…

Insurrection was at least watchable for me. B4 was stupid, but otherwise it was watchable. Final Frontier was just a terrible movie. Bad acting, dumb plot, horrible director (Shatner), but at least it was identifiable as a Star Trek movie.
