I’d say you got lucky, and should not expect that to happen every time.

I guess you could try it, but by the time he gets back, he’s already written the ticket.

Yup. Maryland does, at least. If you don’t have insurance on record with the state, you’ll be getting a letter in the mail asking for proof. If you can’t produce it, you’ll be getting another letter asking for a check.

How long do you think the cop will sit there and wait for you to “find” your card after he asks for it? I’m thinking you better be pretty quick and sneaky on that smartphone, especially with Johnny Law literally looking over your shoulder the whole time.

Prius has McCain/Palin stickers... Crown Vic has Obama/Biden... what bizarre parallel universe did these pictures come from?

Those 5-point harnesses are cool, but without helmets and a roll bar it still won’t pass Tech.

FXXK me.

Pretty sure that’s a Lambo, dude.

If you want to convince people your specialty is turning attractive people ugly, it’s a good choice.

“Goatfucker” starts with a G, so it’s still a possibility.

I think The Great Depression probably had a lot to do with that. When nobody but movie stars and Hitler can afford your cars, and they all want Duesenbergs, you have a problem.

Of course, it would probably still be a lot cheaper and easier to buy a plane ticket to wherever the closest fully-assembled car is, buy it there, and drive it home. :) I mean, they’re pretty rare, but not impossible to

That’s what I would have preferred as well... very rare that combination is.

I know, right? But if you believe everything that’s said about them around here, they must have been engineered by Satan himself.

Yeah, I toyed with the idea of getting another one as a winter beater a few months ago. Used ones fall into three categories:

Exactly! People tend to forget that when the PT came out, it was met with glowing reviews everywhere you went. Retro styling was HOT back then. New Beetle, Mini Cooper, PT Cruiser all coming out about the same time. I bought mine because of that and because apartment living necessitated one vehicle to do everything,

When you bought an automatic so your wife can drive it... but she still won’t drive it because of reasons. (Saturn Sky Redline)

You are not alone. I also loved my PT when I had it. People around here hate them for the wrong reasons. The looks are subjective, sure, and they may not be the most reliable, or the easiest to work on, and are driven by people that Jalops tend to deride, but dammit if they aren’t a tremendously practical and cheap
