The Skrulls’ place in the MCU is the fifth quadrant of the Andromeda Galaxy. ‘Nuff said.

These questions are all I think in play

Why does it matter now though?

A July 3rd or 4th opening would apply to next week’s results, not the prior weekend. Presales still just get added to the first week total.

I agree that putting thought into your film on the level you describe shows craftsmanship in film making.

There’s no tellin’ where the money went...

When a director is good, everything in every scene is there for a reason.  You may not even know it consciously, but it affects the overall experience.

We gotta save the record store from being taken over by corporate monstrosities, guys!

Exactly. We all know the story of Luke. But the implication here would’ve been that his actions were so powerful and inspiring it crossed over into universal lexicon. I’m not a big fan of the interconnectedness of the saga either, and that last movie was just painful to watch after the unique setups that TLJ offered.

Oh for real, this Indie Cred thing is all bullshit. Christopher Nolan wasn’t called a sellout when he made his first Batman film. Now he has all the clout he needs to make the films he wants to make, let her have the same thing.

“I sold out....I SOLD OUT AMC, REGAL, CINEMARK, AND EVERY OTHER THEATER CHAIN IN AMERICA!”

Yeah it’s not really ‘IP’ as such but it’s been adapted so many times it’s not like doing another one is in any way special or unique. It’s the 19th century literary film version of doing a Star Wars to begin with.  Doing a Barbie movie is more unique and interesting than yet another version of Little Women.

I was going to quip that Little Women was also “adapted IP” but turns out that book’s in the public domain now, so.

Counterpoint: Of all the fans that have wandered through my neighborhood in the last few years - NFL and college football fans, BTS, Lollapaloozites, NASCAR fans, and more, the Swifties were the most pleasant, sober, and litter-free of them all. Beyonce and Ed Sheeran will be here later this month. I can only hope

Sometimes I doubt your commitment to Swiftie Motion!

make it a double feature with Clint Eastwood arguing with an empty chair

insane p&a costs that DON’T result in awareness. you’re basically just annoying a fanbase that would know about it anyway

I recall a site claiming it died after Infinity War came out because of the cliffhanger ending and that no one would go see the second part out of spite.

Those MCU is dying pieces have to be written whether they are relevant or not
