I just can’t wrap my head around people being that racist and thinking they’re one of the non-racist good guys. And there’s SO many of them.

Look I don’t even agree with your overall argument, but you’re doing yourself a disservice with this “It wasn’t a noose” nonsense.

It WAS a noose, there just was no intent as a hate crime. A noose is simply a type of knot. Yes, often used in conjunction with hangings and/or racism, but even in innocent situations,

Yeah I perused his comment history for the heck of it earlier and noticed that as well. This comment from another thread on this article was quite perfect: https://jalopnik.com/1844148961

Credit to you for being willing to see the evidence, but this response makes me kind of sad, because to me it demonstrates the real racism needed to legit get angry about this after both the ruling and seeing these pictures.

You were all onboard the doubt train, and once you saw it were so easily able to use logic and

Except he is still a victim. No, not with the noose (alleged or otherwise) directly, but with the response. All this needed from anyone was “Oh, it’s not a hate crime. This is good news!”

Instead, a massive response was basically “HA SEE WE TOLD YOU IT WASN’T RACIST THAT BLACK DRIVER WAS LYING NOW TELL THAT BLACK

Confused? Where did I say I was confused? Or are you still trying to say that the NASCAR industry isn’t racist?

Oof, so angry.

Bro (or Sis), I spent nearly 4 years with an @nascar.com work email. I know the landscape, and the overall fan landscape pretty well. I don’t need you explaining how demographics work lol.

NASCAR (the sport), has a large contingency of racist fans.

There were these that were pretty widely utilized, but in the context of purpose, tone and usage, there’s a startling difference, yes.

Ok wait, I need some clarification of your position then. Because it’s like, abundantly clear by the recent events that NASCAR, the sanctioning body itself, is extremely not racist, when was that ever in question?

Yep. You nailed it. Not racist at all 🙄

Imagine being THAT racist. So racist that the reaction is anything other than “That wasn’t a hate crime? This is a good thing and a relief!”

Just imagine seeing that news and getting smug or angry about it. Imagine being THAT racist. Fuck these people.

It is ENTIRELY possible this is indeed the case. But it is also possible that it’s a 3 or A-ok.

With the confederate flag, that’s so well known that claiming ignorance is not even remotely a legit argument anymore. But with this, I could absolutely believe he has no idea that it’s racist. I had no idea it was until

Yeah yours is a statement that sounds like a joke but honestly could be completely true.

Tom, you’re great and you provided a great option, but you ended your section by suggesting they take it to their trusted mechanic.

Yes I experienced a European secondary road for the first time last summer, as we visited Germany to see some Bavarian castles. I remember thinking that such a road would be considered a utility or work-only road here in the States, I was not used to it haha.

This is a section of that “Tail of the Dragon” road in the

Oh I’m well aware, I’ve taken all manner of vehicle down it, from truck to car.

But if I were doing a two-car, two road day... let’s say GT-R and 370Z since that was the last time I was there, I’d much rather have the Z for the Dragon and the GT-R for Cherohala.

Ah those seem narrow enough to fit right in somewhere in Europe, or you are in fact in Europe. In this case, I do see your point.

The ones I listed definitely have ample curves, but the lanes are definitely much wider.

I mean if you’re THAT-really-serious about driving you’re probably going to a track where this fits in fine...

But no in all seriousness, Tail of the Dragon or Latigo are probably more tight than would be ideal, but cars of this side do fine at roads like Angeles Crest or Cherohala Skyway.

by the idea they should be good at something in order to be respected.

You haven’t suggested any kind of alternative measurement though.
