You’d be stupid to buy a shitty commuter car and sell it after a few years. You run it into the ground, let it bake in the sun and get $2,000 in 15 years after you put 250,000 miles on it. Not sure about Hyundai but Subaru dealers don’t give discounts, at least in my area. Chevy dealers make it rain. I have two friends that bought Chevy Cruz’ that they didn’t even want just because the deal was so good compared to every other dealer.

I feel like they develop them just beyond “crippled and unuseable” in order to hawk them on TV commercials.

Any SUVish vehicle that starts under $20,000 is cheap. All the vehicles in the class are priced similarly with minor variances.

Around the same time the Citroen SM won that award (first foreign car to do so) and they canned the editor due to the lost advertising dollars (Citroen was already on the way out of the US market) so I’d take those awards with a heavy, heavy metric ton of salt.

That’s basically the entire powersports industry. Riding areas and tracks are closing so you need to go farther and farther away. I put a 800lb pop-up slide-in in my 180hp 4 cylinder pick up and it became very uncomfortable to drive, especially in the wind. It was a lot smaller and had canvas sides to lower the weight. Can’t imagine how bad this would be.

Almost half of all co2 emissions is from power generation, add in industrial and that’s 3/4. San Onofre got shut down because of the regulatory environment. We need nuclear power and California is going the opposite of that. Add in air travel being a co2 contributor and a tiny fraction is personal cars.
