People! (not you, hello-my-lover)
That ACE “check cashing” business is also a payday lender, a predatory business and also easily looked at as an oppressor.
Your point of view might be more ethical than mine but I still disagree. For example, what about when a conservative politician supporting homophobic laws gets caught with a Grindr account and his name is Randy Boehning? I don’t want to live in a world where that’s not considered funny.
I’m going to guess the OP is white. Only because they choose to interrupt a discussion on PoC treatment by police and a young women speaking out against it to trot out a bullshit narrative we’ve heard a million times before. Time and place, time and place.
A surprising number of them are, contrary to popular belief.
As more and more wise words come out of the younger generation, this teen’s inspiring wisdom has unfortunately become void. Why? She’s black. The majority cannot relate to her viewpoints because of her skin color and while embracing their own sanctuary of cultural ignorance.
Jesus christ dude.
Love the quote- but as hard as it is to get people to care about black boys dying, we’re also not getting justice or the outpouring of support for black girls who’ve been killed by police.
Now now, we’ve all been dicks about something or another, I was a dick to her about her name too until someone told me to google it.
From the mouths of babes...I hope this is our future because something has got to give.
I’m also impressed by the people/persons who started the hashtag #BaltimoreUprising because rephrasing what’s happening in Baltimore to an Uprising really does change the narrative. And while saying (and getting the media to say) uprising rather than riot or even protest won’t change the minds of your average fox newz…
It makes me kind of sad that a 16-year-old kid named Amandla-with-an-L can talk about The Hunger Games and still make better points about Baltimore than Obama’s.
I love her. She’s so young but she’s so freaking... right? smart? outspoken? all of the above I think. I hope she goes on to do great things, and I’m so glad she has a platform to reach people on right now. (Also I really hope the racist trolls leave her alone, since being outspoken about this shit seems to attract…
What a compassionate and eloquent young woman. Can all of the upcoming generation just be her?
