Dude, there’s an old saying: choose your battles. So, yes, this is the one you should fight and die for. They don’t just suck, they’re generic to the point of looking out of place in a Star Wars film. My favourite is actually the Y-Wing.

Imaginaryfriend....reading our minds since...how long you been posting here?

People who know nothing about Star Trek or SF ;)

Another problematic episode but there was a lot to like. This one felt like Trek, for starters. Riffing on two classic episodes (and Avatar), “This Side of Paradise,” and “Errand of Mercy,” we got some nice character development for Saru and Burnham and forward movement on the Klingon story arc, and the Stametz

Burnham is the Protagonist. This is her journey. Mudd is the (obvious) Antagonist. Stamets is a Guardian or Mentor character, who provides essential information along the way. Tyler is the Sidekick (and Love Interest) who backs the play. They ALL drive the story forward.

Reasonable question. Look, every work of fiction creates a universe with its own rules and laws. A transporter, for instance, can beam someone up from a planet but not send them halfway across the galaxy. The best episodes of Star Trek were the ones that took a convention and pushed it as far as it could go. What

PS The whale represents Burnham, who also keeps things inside, and has been so preoccupied with life she’s neglected to mate, er, have normal relationships. A bit on the nose, but every writer gets to do a few allegories.

It was obvious from the first few minutes that the episode was about relationships and love. Besides the Homer quote title about love (although the magic could just as easily referred to the silly contrivance of the magic time crystal which ultimately fails Mudd), the episode begins with Michael’s personal log in

There’s no question the episode was well directed and acted. The cast is strong and does wonders with clunky dialogue and forced exposition. But that doesn’t change the narrative flaws: an impossible to believe set-up and absurd conclusion (Stella!)

It has its moments. The funny thing is it makes TNG impossible to rewatch. Orville plays up all the cheesiness of TNG too well. But great characters. It might also work better in a 30 minute format like, say, MASH. It’s gotta be expensive to produce so I don’t see it going too far but who know? Worse shows have

I have watched The Orville. It’s not bad as a TNG parody.

Sorry, no. Worst episode yet. Derivative without even trying to offer a new twist. At least when Trek used the time loop in the past (“Cause and Effect”) it felt earned. This time it felt cheap. Oh, dear, then there’s Harry Mudd, a corny plot device from a 50 year old episode suddenly elevated to con-man slash

There. Are. Three. Kids!

D’Onofrio was terrific in season one but let’s move on. We don’t need to see him again. Comics have the luxury of revisiting characters over and over again. A short run series needs to be new and original with every outing. Daredevil vs Kingpin! Been there. Done that.

Oh, Katherine. So many questions. So many...whatevers. Clearly, the show is never going to fit. The characters behave like this is all taking place before Enterprise; yet, the technology seems post-Voyager. Nothing fits. And - sorry, I’ve got to say this - what the f**k is up with the Tribble on Lorca’s desk? It’s so

There’s not much more to say that hasn’t already been said. But, as someone who watched the original series decades ago, it’s obvious that its strength was in its format: standalone morality plays disguised as a science-fiction “western.” TNG ran with it, but was hampered by a syndication model that demanded

Seriously, does anyone on the planet want another Avatar film?

I’m just saying, if they actually make us miss Berman and Braga, well, there’s no coming back from that.

Toto sounds like it was written and performed by robots so I’m not surprised an algorithm liked it. But, I’d like to think art should be a factor, too. That’s my human bias, sorry.

Yeah, my feeling as well. They already have the actor - a damn good one - who would love to reprise the character. It doesn’t have to be a huge, epic film. He was watching over Luke for 20 years - SOMETHING interesting must have happened during that time. I also imagine Ahsoka Tano could be worked in which would be
