This list is almost all fantasy. It’s high time to stop lumping fantasy together with science fiction and give SF its own (albeit short these days) list.

What an icon; to me he WAS the CBC, like Pierre Berton or Adrienne Clarkson as TV mediums from when Front Page Challenge was considered entertainment. Sometimes Canada is just an embarrassing uncle, but you still love him anyway.

I keep watching this, hoping it’s just taking time to gain its footing and will start being funny, smart and watchable.

Star Trek has never been particularly successful as a film franchise. Oh, it’s had a few hits, but adjusting on its ratio for hits and misses, well, they’ve been at their best when they’ve been at their lowest budgets. (TWOK famously shot on roughly a TV production budget)

I don’t know what the big deal about this power is. We’ve known Jedi can cause people to hallucinate since the first movie, we know they can control minds, we know they can communicate telepathically and see places they are far away from, we know Force ghosts can show up basically wherever they want—his Force

Such a kick in the balls, man...

I bounced after episode 3 because...what’s the fucking point? We all knew it was cancelled the fucking day after the pilot aired, so why even bother? I really liked what I saw, but I knew nothing would be properly paid off and wouldn’t end in any kind of satisfactory way...so i just

Gonna be honest.. I love this show but looking back at this season, and especially this finale, it wasn’t what I have come to expect from this show. Last season was absolutely amazing. Season 4 is just above season 1 for me.

Hot take: Ahsoka is the best new Star Wars character introduced since 1980.

Peter Serafinowicz is a goddamn treasure.

Oh that’s wonderful news! I love Adywan’s work. They just got a donation.

But when oh when do we get to see B-Wings in action. Will the Special Special Edition of ROTJ finally include this scene?

I personally dislike ‘webisodes’, mainly because if it isn’t important enough to put into the main show, then why bother? It’s not as if anything that happens in them couldn’t be put into show itself, and given that they don’t advance the plot in any serious way they are little extra for a show that shoved way too

We exist, and we’re also free to criticize the media we consume... especially on blogs designed for just that purpose... and you’re also free to disagree with my criticism... you see how this works?

That video probably got posted to PornHub.

I’m not quite sure how anyone who is a true Trek fan can enjoy this show.  It started off strong but the deeper it went the more messy it became.  All it does it crap all over the things that make Star Trek what it is. Continuity in characters, technology and logic is completely ignored at every turn.  Biggest mistake

I’m in the other side of this; I don’t like TLJ because it was so different. I’m fine with taking the franchise in new directions, I just don’t think the eighth chapter of a nine chapter story is the right place for it. It was just so jarring, I’m unable to enjoy it.

Its a decent scifi action series. Just not a good Star Trek show.

This bears zero resemblance to the book “Impulse” Why oh why would they even bother calling this by the same name?

Seconded on the books. The way Gould has explored Cent’s ability is really engaging.

It’s too bad they don’t seem to be sticking closer to the book (I know, cliche). But in the books featuring Cent (the lead character here) Gould explores the practical ramifications of being able to teleport in interesting ways. I’d much rather watch that.
