Oh, I’m sorry if I came off as at all harsh or defensive! It’s been a long week.

Now playing

Saw a decent video last night that went in-depth on weapon comparisons between the two games and how the Legendaries in Destiny do a good job at lore and development, comparatively.

I’m not claiming any hard evidence, of course- just the combination of Matsuno’s mid-game departure, the multiple plot threads and character arcs left dangling at the end of FFXII, that Vagrant Story and some of his other work does a lot of its best work in the last act - leads me to believe it’s more complicated than

I can’t imagine trying to estimate what the gaming landscape is going to look like in six years, let alone to do it under the weight of corporate expectation.

On the other end of this, can I never be asked again to give the benefit of the doubt?

I have been informed that in China it is also called ‘Divorce Kitchen’ which seems legit.

FFXII apparently had a decent amount of ‘let’s make Vaan the main character’ meddling on the production line.

XII had a mid-story shake-up and Yazmat (original writer) left. It’s unlikely the back half of that game was as originally intended.  Which just sucks.

It seems like your headline is what Jason Schreier was chasing yesterday with the ‘AAA-ass’ thing.

In that point in the regular game where Kassandra faces a loss, I thought her VA did an amazing job of being both stoic and heartbroken.  Occasionally this game got things really right.

Context and history. If it weren’t EA, if ME: Andromeda hadn’t happened, if Fallout 76 hadn’t happened, if Dead Space 3 hadn’t happened...

Watch FromSoft announce its next game as an always-online, co-op Destiny-looking loot-shooter and see if the reaction is moderate.

take your filthy star and go

Does it help that either way, we were probably screwed?

I have a 10$ credit that’s going to expire at the end of the month and nothing in particular I wanted to spend it on - you’ve convinced me to pick up Mad Max.  So thanks!

I’ve been so entertained by the meta for this game I don’t even give a crap what it ends up being, I’ve already got $60 worth of enjoyment out of it. It could be a combination sock collection and avant-garde, five-act interpretive dance performance and I’d be there.

Thanks for posting this.

If you haven’t played Valley yet and have a Switch, it’s a pretty good little game.  Great movement mechanics.
