Property taxes are based on an assessment of your home’s value. When that assessed value goes up, your taxes go up. A few places may have laws that lock in the accessed value, but most don’t.
I pay property taxes on my land and it will go up if the value of my land goes up. Maybe we should have stock taxes to make the whole “stocks are like houses” a reasonable comparison.
Good lord he’s such a petulant little piss-baby
You mean the Elon Musk foundation?
Does that excuse him from insider trading?
I think the takeaway is “blatant insider trading but we are dancing around it for fun joke.”
She does go on to explain that if she sells the property in the future for the same price, she’ll owe taxes on that $3 million again. But until that day, she’s basically getting an interest-free loan from the government.
Top Gun is one of the worst movies to have made the most money; that thing wasn’t just a Transformers-level hit but an inescapable cultural moment and it is nearly unwatchable.

This article read as if the Sunrise Movement wrote it.
Maybe lurched was a bit of an exaggeration, but you don’t drive into peaceful protestors, especially if you are a US Senator.
Was there another video that wasn’t linked with the mentioned “lurched forward”? Letting the car creep forward instead of just waiting for the guys that were clearing them away to finish doing so wasn’t a great move, but it also wasn’t some Charlottesville incident in the making.
