You should see how they drive in China. It’s plenty exciting.

I don’t pretend to know what the answer here is. There is maybe some merit in Ellen not taking up that space in this moment though. Black America has the stage.  I don’t want to give the mic to a rich white woman so that I can then read bullshit headlines about who’s boycotting her show.

I think the problem here is that they’re talking to Don Lemon, not the public. This is really telling to me:

Sheriffs around the country have been celebrated for weeks by conservative media for refusing to enforce health orders from county and state officials.

No one seems to have authority over the police forces anymore. It seems like we’re dealing with a rogue army, backed by laws to protect them, who’s union embraced the white supremacist rhetoric of the current occupant of the white house.

One could argue it’s a mob. A terrorist cell.

One takeaway I’m getting from all this is mayors have no authority over their city’s police force...
