Easily spoofed and easily discovered. For goodness sake, I had a laptop which I had set to randomly pick it’s mac address every time it rebooted. My university liked to track students based on mac address. Combine that with a VPN and that problem went away.

I’d also add disable WPS! It is not secure and I don’t know why it’s still an option on most routers these days. Not only that but if it’s on, people can see that it’s enabled - you might as well put out a red carpet.

Fortunately, we had another option when Frontier took over our stuff - Verizon wasn’t so bad... at least when they ran things, they tended to stay up and functional. After our third outage that lasted a couple of days, we had enough and switched to the cable company. The best part is that they actually blamed me for

Ugh, been there! No, really, the problem is on your end, Verizon!

Absolutely agree about working in Healthcare IT. You will never be treated so poorly in any other place of employment as long as you live. Doctor egos are... just wow, and combined with the complete lack of technological ability they tend to have - at least in my experience - makes for a very miserable environment.

For what it’s worth, a lot of times you can recover from that by doing a factory reset on the hardware. You can usually find instructions for it online.

My personal record was in the 200's. Unfortunately, these days company policy doesn’t let us run more than a dozen tabs and they have creepy stalker software that monitors it.

Let me just say that I’m so glad to see the one about it being plugged in on there. That’s almost an automatic response from me when someone says something is broken and it works about 75% of the time.

Man, that’s as old as cd-rom drives. I remember hearing that one when I was still in high school in the 90's. Funny thing is, back then it was the grandparents doing stuff like that.

So if you’re* disc player isn’t working...

Or we are super paranoid and don’t have any such social internet presence! That’s right, I don’t even have a linkedin - and somehow, I’m employed anyway!

I bought those bags once and I found that they leak and tear much more easily than other bags.

Ha, I had forgotten about that article... what a head scratcher.

I may be dating myself a bit but I haven’t played a game online (at least, not with strangers) in years, but is it still the case that if a person has a feminine username/avatar that they’re basically opening themselves up to a ton of sexism/abuse/come ons, etc? I’d imagine that the sort of behavior I used to see

Every GTA I’ve placed since VC has had me getting more and more disappointed in the soundtrack. I love VC’s soundtrack - there were times I got in the game and just drove around just to listen to the music. I hope the next one has one that’s at least listenable... I think IV easily had the worst.

One annoys me even more than that. I call it the Disney chicken scream - if you watch a Disney movie and there’s a chicken in it, it WILL make that sound. Refer the trailer for Moana when the stupid chicken is on screen. Every. Single. Time. ARGH.

Capital One 360 (formerly ING Direct - RIP, you are missed). It was originally built around the person who saves money - when pre-recession interest rates were as awesome as 4.75% - so they have a ton of tools to that end. For example, you can create unlimited, named savings accounts and set up automatic transactions

Same here, combined with automatic contributions. We have a Household fund for house-related expenses and a car fund to cover insurance costs, maintenance costs and so on - with a minimum balance to match the cost of the insurance deductible. Finally, a general savings fund for mattress stuffing. Granted, the main

As someone who generally loves playing snipers in games, this has pretty much sold me on never playing Overwatch.
