I really don’t get complaints about programming it. I mean you go on the site, pick your toys and then set up activities... done. Yeah, the syncing part is slow, but I prefer it SO much over the old type in codes one by one until you find that that works - oh wait that one only controls the power button and nothing

Funny, I give a guy I know gift cards specifically because he’s a rich asshole who has everything. He constantly buys crap at Amazon, so he can get his own gift - especially since any gift given is immediately looked down upon if it isn’t the right color/brand. He’s actually a good friend otherwise, but even his wife

Absolutely! This, to me, was the biggest red flag in that entire story. Even assuming his bizarre story about his ex is true, this alone is more than enough to convince me she’s not his girlfriend. .

I am so glad I’m no the only one.

As of right now, GameStop says the download version is “not available”. Weird that a downloadable game is out of stock, but I imagine they were only given so many codes for the sale.

It was definitely my biggest gripe about the first game... it pitched such a hack-everything approach that I envisioned a game where you spend most of your time solving problems with the creative use of the tech and environment. Instead, 90% of missions devolved to shooting matches with some hacking as a dressing, not

Seconded. I also love the soundtrack. Not music I would have sought out on my own, but damn, it works so well.

To be fair, they haven’t even released the single player DLC they promised back when the game came out, so it’s easy to believe they’d cancel any sequels to keep churning out stuff for GTA:O.

Another basic thing you could learn is javascript. You can create neat functionality with a few lines of code and get faster feedback for your work since it’s all about interfacing with the browser you can write something up and load it in FF or Chrome or whatever and still gives you some basic programming concepts.

It really is the golden age for building these things. Everything is clearly labeled, color coded and everything. Last motherboard I bought even came with a little piece that helped you get the front panel wires connected properly (the thing I’ve hated most in older computers). I remember when everything was obtuse

That’s pretty fantastic, I think I’ll adopt your methodology.

I read this elsewhere myself once. Anyone having an exchange with me that went that way would instantly have bonus point, lol.

I once dated someone that texted messages often with an exclamation point. I found it very odd at the time - very insincere, like false excitement. Personally, if just a single “Yeah” doesn’t convey excitement, I’d rather just use more words (or better ones) than use an exclamation point: “Yeah, that sounds great,

My method has served me well over the years: just don’t ask.

SO agree. It also drives me nuts when people talk about toxins being in things. It’s never anything specific, just “toxins”. Even water can be toxic in large enough quantities; claiming some undefined toxins are in X means nothing to me. Now, tell me there’s lead in the water or something, and then we’re talking about

Totally agree. I also hate that the only place you can really search around is on their website. They make finding things so painful on any of the interfaces (roku, android tv, xbox, ps4, etc.) that it’s not worth it most of the time. Yeah, they finally give us categories, that’s nice, but why can’t we drill down to

Ah, that was around the time I got my first pc (that was for my use). I was a teenager at the time. Didn’t they restart the version numbering when they went to the “CS” they used for so long before the current subscription model?

Wow, how far back was that? I’ve been using it since version 3 (I think) and it’s had those features as long as I’ve been using it.

For what it’s worth, this can vary by phone a lot... on mine, (S6) it’s under Accessibility > Vision > Text to speech. Also, there’s no option to try a sample.

The LP Authenticator app also does this. It’s particularly nice since I’m extra nerdy and have a smartwatch so I can hit the approve notification from my wrist.
