Why does the victim have the responsibility to turn their attention to the arrow, and not call out the perpetrator? This seems like victim blaming, or at the very least perpetuating archery culture.

Dear Tom,

You forgot the part in your plan where you have to find a buyer for the privately sold car that is A-ok with not taking ownership of the vehicle they’ve just paid for. Since, y’know, the title still has a lien on it and can’t be transferred to the new owner until the loan is paid off.

No offense, but this seems pretty preposterous. You’re paying $6k each year in after tax dollars just for the office rental.

I dunno, I think it’s a good idea to read a bill before you vote on it, even if it is as you describe.

And take a long, hard look at your shitty high deductible health insurance and HSA(if applicable). Even something minor can fuck you.

Oh god, no. You don’t know my friends.

These costs are supposed to be outside of normal daily spending, not just “how much did you spend on these things.” Some might eat out more when dating, for example, or go to bars a lot more often than they normally would, or spend more on clothing than usual.

Is it really priceless when it’s insured for a specific value?

Yes, but...if I’m calling about seeing someone getting mugged, I get pissy at wasting 5 minutes going through my name, address, phone number, blah blah irrelevent. I can describe what I’m seeing and give a location. Dude needs help!

Let me share... I recently saw a car almost hit a pedestrian, then get into an altercation with the ped. I called 911 and started calling out the license number as the car drove away. The operator/dispatcher had no fucking idea what I was doing, and recorded none of it.

Having worked at 911 centers for 18 years - the most important piece of advice for someone calling 911: “Answer the questions the dispatcher asks you in the order they are asked.”

Yeah, I thought this was common knowledge too. Also, it’s freaking 2017, my GPS can lock in on me in 2 seconds flat, how is it that 911 can’t do it?

I called in to 911 the other day because there was a crazy person hanging off the side of an overpass on my way to work. I got a busy signal! Couldn’t believe it. I hung up, waited a minute, then called again, and got another busy signal! Repeated the process for 30 minutes until I got to work. Couldn’t believe how
