How do you figure “most” have costly HOA’s? We bought a house last year and most subdivisions around here don’t have an HOA or it’s quite cheap, the one for our subdivision is like $70 a year and that’s mostly for beach access.

I see a lot of people mentioning HOA’s, but that is totally dependent on geography. The majority of suburbs in my area are not filled with HOA communities, particularly the older, more established ones. If you want to live in a community with brand new McMansions it’s a different story.

They’re also, like, shockingly large when you see them up close in person. They’re not condors by any means but however large I thought a blue jay should be, they turned out to be much bigger than that.
