I am not a doctor nor am I a nurse, but those appear to be severe burn injuries, most likely chemical burns of some sort. They might also be caused by being dragged across hot concrete or hot and rough pavement, but I doubt it.

I sincerely hope this plays out in favor of Chicago as well as in favor of other cities threatened by the DOJ (read that as 45 and AG elfkin) related to withholding previously-granted funds.

I typically walk the same two miles with my doggy twice each day. Now your comment makes sense, but switching while “in-office” seems (to me at least) to be a breach of the oath-of-office and an affront to those who voted for and elected him, regardless of his affiliations before election.

Just as an aside (and not a political statement of any stripe), I wonder how it’s even possible for a duly elected government official to “change(switch)“ political parties in the manner of West Virginia Governor Jim Justice during his term in office?

It’s been awhile and memories fade, but I do remember being shush-pointed towards the black water fountain while she smiled and drank from the white water fountain...every durn time. Of course I understand ‘now’ but back then, it was just fun and cold waters.

When I was just a wee-bit younger, I recall seeing the sign just below on every bus I rode. I also remember asking my mom why there were white drinking fountains nearby the black drinking fountains in department stores, whereupon I would get what you call today, serious side-eye.
