Well, that’s because I actually image-searched ‘smug asshole’ and was presented with this fine toady; a real-live ‘smug asshole’.

From the look on this guy’s face, it appears he just received a pardon, a reprieve, and/or a free-pass from 45 for himself, his staff, and for all other members of Congress to get whatever exemptions he chooses while the rest of us pay full fare.

I (now) see and agree with you R the C - incarceration would be wrong because as you stated “a civil matter” but in the heat of my initial posting, it just sounded so-durn-rite.

Not being a prosecutor, nor even a lawyer, nor clear as to the law (if any) in this situation, my sense senses that Chris Devins (a grifter AND a thief) should be severely punished - and I would vote for a minimum of three years in jail and 10,000 hours of community service - to be served upon his release by cleaning…
