Unless the asymmetry has some convincing “form follows function” argument, I’m not a fan of asymmetry for design’s sake. The B-wing for example is a good form follows function:

“Just kill me”

11 year old car with 45,000 miles. Where do you drive it? Just to get the mail and straight back to the garage?

Let’s see

I have so many questions.

My argument is not with the looks, it is with the removal. Yes, a pro (which are few and far between) that applies it properly will result in a good looking vehicle, though as someone mentioned they always seem to look better in pics than in person.

Id just type out the whole options list in silver and stick it to my trunklid. Think how great badges that say “extended service plan” and “2% interest” would look!

Formerly fat, infinitely awesome.

With that profile pic, you’d think you’d be an editor over at Jezebel.

Giving tree has zero fucks left to give.

They’re calling it ‘mobility’ and ‘car sharing’ (cause the sharing economy is so hot right now - oh wait, was so hot a while ago...), but really what they’re saying is that they’ll be a provider of fleet vehicles. That’s smart in the sense that they can get their foot in the door without having to establish a dealer

Baby boomers are an aging bunch.

How are all these people missing the most obvious danger - distracted drivers. If you’re driving down the highway and a motorcycle appears out of nowhere - OVER YOUR HEAD, how is that not likely to cause an accident?!

The exact numbers depend on your specific situation but yes, the cost of monthly repairs + the opportunity cost should be the main factors* in deciding when you need to replace a car. Our numbers when we replaced our ‘97 Civic (which I bought when it was 5 years old) in 2014 were more like 40/60 because Civic repairs

It’s a little weird that this is on the same site that published Maggie Stiefvater’s amazing article ‘Why I Fuck Up My Cars’.

Well, then the wise car shopper would buy a 4 year old used car and hold on to that car until the monthly cost of repair is about 70% of the payment for a replacement car (30% represents the value of your time in terms of missed opportunities due to car failure). I have never met anybody who bought cars this way,

I’d like to come to the defense of ‘poseurs’ everywhere. Mods are nothing more than one’s attempt to personalize your ride. It has nothing to do with performance -it’s not about extra 1 Hp gain from the upgraded cold box filter, it’s about making this YOUR car. Mods have everything to do with self-identification.

Hell, I just noticed that the new BMW X1 has an entire fake EXHAUST. Only the left one is real!
