1st Gear: it’s ironic and sad that year ‘round sunny states like Nevada have policies that deter EV adoption aka residential solar is charged a hefty access fee to stay on the grid (you can thank Warren Buffet for that one).

We’re just shifting energy supply/demand from Big Oil to Big Energy. Suddenly, any savings you may see at the pump will be offset by higher electricity prices once EVs on the streets hit an inflection point. The biggest angle for consumers is residential solar power but even then Warren Buffet is making it very hard…
THIS. It’s insulting that Vinfast is coming in as a “premium” tier offering without the premium car experience.
If you live in a disaster prone area, there are definitely bigger problems to consider on top of transportation. Like insurance for your home/car? It sucks to move but the insurance companies are forcing the issue by refusing coverage for states that are “disaster prone”. Imagine my surprise when California made it to…
Short of a Tesla Model Y/3/S, people still want a test drive before buying and especially from a new brand! Given what you say is the consensus, it will be fairly obvious that the VF8 sucks eggs once you get behind the wheel for 5 minutes. I don’t think anybody will be “accidentally” buying the VF8 when the base Model…
Who are you trying to convince? The demand for the Prius Prime is off the charts but there are few available at MSRP just like the RAV4 Prime. People living where there are no convenient charging options are definitely looking at the Prius Prime without much convincing while those living in places like SoCal can get…
Clearly a slow news day. Next up: (1) Tesla autopilot suspected of causing an accident or (2) America is not yet ready for EVs or (3) Tesla sales are slowing because of Elon’s Antics
What kind of jobs do these truck bros have that allows them to buy these crazy expensive EVs? Are they oil baron babies? Roll Coal Influencers?
Just like when it was the least efficient ICE car you can buy?
Sounds like an attempt to get views and clicks on social media
Bolt EUV was a good value but the seats were HORRIBLE like sitting on a park bench. Hopefully, the rebooted Bolt will use seats with a bit more cushion/support at least the level of a Honda Civic.
Quite ugly made uglier when you take price into consideration - sticking it to the tacky rich?
I have my doubts about Vinfast EVs until they prove some production maturity, but it helps that they have access to the second largest deposit of rare earth metals in the world which means at least they have a chance at vertical integration from direct supplies of raw materials in Vietnam.
LOL this story has me cheering for the bold teenager - sad state of affairs when car dealers receive no sympathy for being defrauded
“Manufacturers seem to have all of their prices inflated by that amount to indirectly keep the savings for themselves,” but what you forget is that with the exception of Tesla, the other American EV makers are all selling their cars at a loss - their pricing as low as they can get away with while fending off investors…
Give me hand crank windows and a basic FM/AM radio from 2 door speakers plus a manual shifter on the lowest end base Porsche 911 and I’ll be happy - but even that car is over $90K! So what’s another $15K for automatic windows?
Yep, people make bad decisions and should have bought cars they can afford just like they should buy a house they can afford, and stop racking up credit card bills because they can’t afford to eat out every day. See a theme here? Irresponsible spending is not just about cars, it’s about bad judgment - but what’s the…
Just in time as diesel prices take another jump - sorry but $7/gallon diesel is coming.
AM car radios will be dead in 3 years. I do love my AM talk stations but the trend of removing radios is a thing.
I’m really looking forward to seeing that Charger EV sports coupe launching in 2024 and with Geely money, THIS would actually happen.
