These are the last days if ICE cars so enjoy these announcements while you can. Between the rising price of gasoline and government support of EVs, the streets will be very different in 10 years time. As more and more drivers get hybrids/EVs, gasoline demand will continue to drop which will further curtail production

After the last gas price craziness about 15 years ago, I made a conscious decision to replace all my cars in preparation for the next global price hike. Kept my minivan just in case, but we now have 2 EVs for daily driving. Here’s the problem - electricity prices will surge way WAY beyond gasoline as more and more

The question is whether this troubling trend of flight attendant shortages or will staffing return to pre-pandemic levels? If staffing does not, cancellations will only get worse as existing attendants need more time off or “retire” altogether.

Peon worker: “since we’re closing shop, can I take this home?”

I understand why CA is high with its various tax surcharges and additives but what’s up with Nevada which has no additives (summer/winter blends) and no additional surcharges (the state collects so little taxes that there’s barely any money left for schools and public works).

Couldn’t disagree more, Erik. Moving forward, EV vehicles will become more and more standardized with motors, batteries and other powertrain components being off the shelf while what separates the individual cars will be ride/suspension, design, interior, UI layout and SOFTWARE.

Agreed, that large number was obviously gross earnings - but STIL, as you said, to make that much with such a limited menu selection six days a week vs McD’s is phenomenal.

Cane’s is now becoming a “thing” with similar lines. I tried it and thought “this is like Chick Fil A”

You’re not the only one. Carbon fiber looks so dated now and filled with 90's pretensiousness

Now playing

Because perception. Who wants to be known as the “Corvette Guy” and all that it entails? This scene from Silicon Valley is apt. Personally, I like the old school Stingray of the 70's. Current generation is definitely sharp but not “me” - I don’t buy cars purely for performance (just get a Tesla) but if I’m gonna spend

It’s not that people don’t want a physically “small” car, but rather they’re just shopping the most fuel efficient car and in the past those happened to be “small”, however, now that the Prius ends up being more fuel efficient than smaller cars what purpose does a “small” car serve if a Prius is within your budget and

It’s too late. Ford’s planned EV division is receiving more investor interest than their ICE legacy line - this alone will cause executives to re-draw their entire 5 year roadmap. All EVs are sold out into 2023 production. Obviously, if gasoline drops to $2, then used ICE cars are a way better proposition. But it’s

I hate West LA with a passion - traffic, parking, attitude - it just reeks of pretentiousness that’s unbearable for me. South Bay or OC any day

You nailed it. Even a $1.5 million house in nearby San Fernando, Glendale or Burbank is like a trashy median home in Ohio somewhere. The people living in this neighborhood were middle class people suddenly discovering that the homes they were barely able to afford at $700K just 8 years ago is now $1.5 million, and

1st Gear:Given the amazing charging speed, reasonable range and hot performance of both the Ioniq5 and EV6, today’s EV consumer have very little reason to look at the Tesla when the Hyundai fraternal twins can be had for less than $58,000 fully loaded with the 7500 tax credit to boot. Tesla Model Y’s interior is fit

Will never buy another ICE vehicle again, new or used. I understand that not everyone can afford an EV but if you are a position to choose, the ICE car is like equestrians buying a horse. The average suburban/urban commuter would benefit more from EVs with 225 mile range.

This is a solution only if counterfeit records are an issue. For business purposes NFT blockchain is all about authentication of documentation (COVID test/boost record, birth certificates, diplomas, etc.) that could be subject to forgeries and fakes.

Crazy people. I’d rather just pay my electrician for his time - the expense is fairly reasonable. Having added additional capacity for my home theater system and other electrical upgrades, I’ve discovered that they are quite affordable if you catch them during the “slow season” like between November and January.

Mom & pop need the ease/cost of ownership from Honda or Toyota. As soon as Toyota comes up with the $24,000 RAV4 EV, it’s a done deal.

1st Gear PEV:  Yep, I’m only considering EVs for my next upgrade because ranges are now reasonably acceptable and more importantly, the nice cars are available if you don’t want a Tesla. I find the Audi e-tron incredibly compelling, and its interior way better than anything from Tesla.
