My assumption is that all street racing is idiotic.

Or do you mean it’s “DA SHIT!”

This. As a long time Miata fan, my reason for not buying one again is mostly design - a little too boring, harmless, inoffensive in its purposeful lack of testosterone. The Fiat solved some of that but was still missing that “it” factor. NOW, this vintage inspired design is the bomb! Totally worth $40,00.

Thanks for the clarification, and I agree!

The Civic, Niro, Prius, Corolla and Fit are great cars for most small families and can be had for less than $25,000. How much cheaper do you want?

I’m impressed with the Kia Niro. Awesome hybrid (50MPG) that looks tolerable compared to the Prius, can carry a small family, likely to be reliable, and priced perfectly for Middle Class America at $25,000. The Prius is similarly priced. For at least 50% of the average American family (with 2 kids or less) who are not

Yep. Unlike GM which bankrupted its way out of those pensions, Ford tried to “do the right thing” and now is stuck with huge long term pension related debts.

It’s not just Tesla. Remember the Dot.Com bubble? How about Twitter or Uber, none of which show any profits as they struggle to break even and keep users. Exciting technology always creates “irrational exuberance” and are evaluated on emotion and expectations. Hell, the fact that Bitcoin is worth so much more than $100

Aftermarket exhausts do more harm than good, most of the time. The M Performance Exhaust more than does the job for the 128i - I had the 128i for a few years, and wow, the last naturally aspirated I6 from BMW was a gem.

So wait 2 years and let the depreciation bonus kick in before you buy either. Will probably drop by at least $20,000 after 2 years.

For new Supra money, you can always get a 5 year old 911 Carrera (manual transmission) that you’d cherish forever.

But the trade-off is the sound - mmmmm, sweet sound of the I6 on startup beats any V6 I’ve heard. For consumers who don’t plan to take this car to the track, the trade-off in weight for better sounding exhaust rumble is well worth it.

Well, it’s either that or NEVER see another real Supra sports car again. Lesser of the 2 evils I’d say, and how awesome is that!

Very glib and easy to say when you are pain free. What posters who tell people not to “let age dictate” your life don’t get is that it has nothing do to with age and everything to do with pain - PAIN. Not “minor” discomfort, we are talking it is painful pushing yourself up from a sitting position. I know a few 70 year

Turn 60 and call us about your aches and pains then.

Torch just needs to suffer a bout of sciatica for a week, and he’ll never get into anything lower than a truck/SUV.

You are blessed not to suffer the curse of aging joints as others have. As people live longer, the simple physical activities we take for granted become daily challenges. Like you said, you “never noticed a single thing”, and that’s because you’re not hurting like hell due to sciatica or calcified hip joints or lower

Yep. My aging parents and in-laws (late 60s, early 70s) love minivans and SUVs for that very reason. When my mom bought her Lexus NX, the ONLY thing she cared about was getting in and out of the car. She didn’t even test the infotainment or test drive it. She’d sit down and quickly reject some cars outright “nope too

If you’re only going for looks, the Fisker looks great too and for a whole lot less used.

Except for the 911, they retain value like crazy even after 3 years and 25k miles. Yes, I continue to look and hope.
