IRON EAGLE

"At full attention"

Any excuse to expose the Youth of America to the splendor of Mary Woronov is fine with me.

Nope, no one hates "Get Lucky", not even one tiny little bit. It is the greatest song ever written, and every single person on Earth loves it unreservedly. It has ended all wars, erased all hatred, righted all wrongs, and united each and every one of us in never-ending bliss and harmony.

That's the new weasel slang? Good to know.

At a former job, the president was going on the road on a fundraising tour. In the brainstorming session to name it, I jokingly said "The Drive to Thrive" as one of the lamest things I could think of. It wound up as the campaign name, branded on posters, mailings, coffee mugs, calendars, the works.

Peepshow was my Gateway too, and still maybe my favorite. Superstition pretty much blows, so don't let it put you off… Try Tinderbox and Through The Looking Glass as next steps.

Agreed, if only because it makes the "high concept" pitch far too easy.

@Dikachu:disqus I think it makes some gay guys (insecure ones, obviously) feel "manlier" to refer to their partner as having fuckable lady parts.

"Manchowder" is the one that really puts me off my supper. So to speak.

Oh, I see… Just like right-wing fundamentalist types hate homosexual behavior, but not the people who practice it?  ;)

@avclub-9ff7c9eb9d37f434db778f59178012da:disqus Please imagine that I just gave you 100 likes for your excellent #3 response, then took them ALL back again for your ridiculous anti-beardist prejudice.

In any online community, some people share a genuine camaraderie that transcends topics and opinions, while others will turn against other people at the slightest personal affront or collective whim. The hellish thing is that the line between the two is basically invisible right up until the moment shit goes down.

"Don't come any closer, or I'll light the fuse and blow this steer to kingdom come!", Tom said abominable-y.

Oh, and Fundamental is fantastic. Second-favorite for me, right after Very & Behaviour.

@avclub-d0a71c1626850b3db5c4d7c61ded1d3e:disqus  Didn't see your comment on the worst songs on Elysium before posting above, but it looks like you and I have conclusively identified the three turds in the punchbowl.

@avclub-d35d0af0d2a70c049bbedcb88e25ef28:disqus , @avclub-64ad8f3af92ef8d9a1c7dfd7265e577d:disqus  : Just chiming in to add my voice to the chorus. I think Behaviour is damn near perfect, and it's tied for #1 in my heart with Very — which one takes top prize depends on my mood that day, as they're so different from

He's younger than thee. Obviously.

I shot the Chéret, but I did not shoot the Dubuffet.

Thanks for telling us about your cousin, @avclub-21a8615938a206d4311a58a53ad8890e:disqus . It makes me feel like there is still some hope.
