This year we are making brisket, though a harissa slathered turkey is going to be made once birds go cheap on sale after the big day :)

1000X yes, use the grill. Especially for the bird (if you’re having one), I really love cooking ours out on the pellet grill and spatchcock, and let it go with some fruit wood. So long as no family members care about having that “picture perfect” presentation, the bird comes out tasting better that no one will care

I’d like to nominate these monitor mounted style lights as well for space saving option.
I’ve had one for about a year now, and I really like it. It’s plugged in to the USB port on my display, so it turns on and off with my monitor, it frees up my desk space, and lights up my desk well without producing glare on my moni

Ah, like Nissan and their “lifetime” CVT fluid

That is my experience as well. I was thinking about it later on, and I think specifically because the Marine version calls out for Ethanol protection that may be why it was recommended by our small engine shop.

Agree with rotating your fuel. If we are coming up on a storm where we may need to use our equipment, we fill up in advance, and if we don’t use it within a month, we put that fuel in the car.

The old advice I had been given was for things like generators that sit for extended periods between use was to use marine fuel

There is only one place I know near me that makes this, and it’s a pilgrimage I take every couple months, and is well worth it. Suddenly I need to make a trip once again, if only to also stock up on their house made sausages.

I’m not mad one bit. But I am hungry.

We had talked about getting the audiobooks for our next long road trip

I’ll echo the recommendation to watch Silo. My wife doesn’t always get pulled into the same shows I watch, but a few episodes in she started asking when the next episode would drop. Hopefully the strike will end soon and the writers, cast, and crew can return to this world.

Thanks for ripping open the wound of Agent Carter being cancelled far too soon again.

I think all of them are going in a similar direction, where they are still very nice, but the cost curve to keep them operating correctly is rising faster and faster.

All manufacturers have their solid, reliable offerings, but from personal experience, friends ownership experience, and speaking with mechanic friends, I avoid BMW, Audi, and Mercedes Benz.

Car Wizard on YouTube has a good couple of videos over the last few years that are a good watch. Here is the BMW recommendation

Fortunately, things have improved a lot on most vehicles to last a lot longer.
Unfortunately, there are still some brands that appear to be built to only last as long as a typical lease.

My wife bought me a simple “On Air” LED sign that I have above/behind my desk that I kick on when my office door is open so my kiddo and Mrs have a visual indicator when I’m on a call or in the middle of something. Plug into a USB port on the back of a monitor, and never have to worry about batteries.

Umbrellas are a great investment. We use a pair - one over our table, and a second we bring out that goes on our grilling cart. When the sun gets lower in the afternoons/evenings, we tilt the umbrella on the cart to help cover things so we don’t have the table umbrella close to anyone’s head and give more even

Oh heck, why didn’t I think of it earlier - a bilge pump! Many come with a float switch built in, they come in a bunch of different sizes, GPH ratings, etc, and pretty inexpensive!

I had thought maybe something like this, meant for mini split units may be applicable, the smaller piece would sit in the tray with the larger piece able to have some flexibility to where it would be mounted.

I’m curious if a condensate pump may be better suited for the drain side - it uses a float switch to operate, so less risk of it running dry and no need to setup timing. It will be a little more expensive than a cheap pond pump, but I’m thinking may be better suited for the job?

I can only hope the song makes it to the new series.
