Before we get into the whole “ugh, soccer is the worrrrst!,” just know that fucking everybody hates Pepe.

If the ref sees a dive, they should confirm it on video replay, then red card the diver. That’s the only way this shit will end.

This is why people hate soccer.

As soon as I saw that this happened in a Portugal match, I knew it was Pepe. The worst of the worst.

Pepe’s the worst and always has been. There has to be a law that players have to choose between diving and dirty fouls. If you do both habitually, you should be banned from the game.

Along with avoiding sponsors and US citizens, Rafa Márquez also declined Landon Donovan’s support of the Mexican team.

Came for this.

I mean, sure, she COULD have let a rabid 20-pound animal claw her face off, but she...chose not to let it maim or kill her, so I guess fuck her?

Maybe it’s actually pretty cool for a food blog to cover basics in a non-condescending way, since a lot of people out there are just beginning and still have questions? Maybe it’s people who think something is “too basic to be explained” who are the gatekeepers of a community that really doesn’t need any gatekeeping

Against my better judgement, I clicked on the Malia link and immediately regretted it.

Although “shot in an FBI dance-off” sounds ever better!

It’s a hugely counter-intuitive piece of human psychology. Presumably this is why it works... for some people.

I don’t know what culture you live in, but I personally feel like some presentations of religion (I’d argue the most prevalent presentations) contribute to this misunderstanding. When the Israelites repented and God forgave them of whichever sins they were committing at the time, God lifted the punishment He was

That is interesting to read. I’ve always taken forgiveness as excusing someone for something terrible or telling them it’s okay they did something in the wrong. It’s not a word to use for the person making the offense, it’s for the forgiver. Huh. This puts things in perspective.

As someone who can’t forgive the person who cut in front of me for coffee three weeks ago, I find this kind of forgiveness aspirational.
