They are definitely aware its happening. The reason they need to replicate it themselves is because when they replicate it, they can have internal debugging running at the same time to actually find what's wrong behind the scenes.

Yeah pretty much this. The first two and a half minutes are a tease for Terra's theme and then we get just 10 seconds of it finally. It was more annoying to listen to then anything.

I dunno, Sleeping Dogs with the HD Texture Pack looked pretty darn great (you have to download it separately in Steam though, it won't automatically download it). I'm unsure how much better the definitive edition would look.

As far as I can tell, they only released it on the UK 3DS VC. I might be wrong about that though.

The original FSN anime was just pretty bad all around. If you really want to understand all the characters and their stories you probably are gonna have to read the VN (which is great by the way, and has voice acting! It's really worth it!)
