Man, I'd agree with you about their other games, but Dota wasn't engineered by Valve. It was made by modders. Dota 2 is the same game as Dota but with a prettier engine, and without frustrating WC3 engine limitations.

Hahaha, so many things I relate to in this post. Man, I only bought items without actives for like my first 200 games because I knew I would forget to use them. I still forget to use them.
Yeah, I was about to write the same thing. I've never heard Ram Ram or Alvidha actually used.
Yeah I got so excited for three seconds, and then read it was for the movie.
Of course! Almost any FPS at a sufficiently high level will involve tactics and strategy.
I have a few theories about this. First of all, the reason why MOBA's are initially difficult is mostly about you not knowing things. A lot of the initial difficulty of the game is knowledge-based, which is actually not a very difficult thing to overcome. It can feel overwhelming at first, the sheer amount of stuff…
Nope, that qualification is completely fair. When you buy PC hardware, one hundred percent of that money is going to whoever made that PC component. None of it goes to Microsoft. Why on earth should they give you their OS for free? When you buy Apple hardware (which is already pretty expensive!) all of it goes to…
Seriously, why isn't this a thing :(
Yup. But if I remember correctly he said on twitter he'd be open to coming to quakecon in the future. This was before the lawsuit though.
Man, no Carmack talk this time. And with the lawsuit, I doubt we'll ever see Carmack at Quakecon again. I haven't liked anything id has made in ages but Carmack's talks were always awesome.
I don't think saying OSX is free is fair. It's not. You can only use it on Apple hardware, so really, the OS is just built into the cost of the system you buy.
I'm pretty sad DocSeuss's comment was not preserved in the original. He obviously put a lot of effort into the response, and it was the most level-headed opinion on her piece that accurately said what was wrong with the article and solutions as to how we should handle future situations.
Yes... Yes...
EDIT: WRONG THREAD MUST BAIL
Actually, if you interested in watching the International and learning about Dota, they have a newcomers stream where they explain in detail what is going on. It's meant for new players.
Well he said he knew nothing about MOBAs and many terms are shared across both games.
Someone at TAY wrote up a pretty good list:
Here is a pretty good list of the important moments from the group stages of TI4:
To be fair, you might have been listening to the more mainstream version, All I Ever Wanted.
