Man even when there hasn’t been any recent review bombs or harassment you guys still manage to write an article about it. How about an article about how Epic has abandoned their Epic store development roadmap? Seems like news to me that the company throwing millions at exclusives cant seem to get even the most basic…
I’m having a hard time understanding why it’s even news when a company goes to a particular distribution platform. I can’t imagine the person who cares enough about this to even take the time to complain.
Well Nathan, thank you for convincing me that Epic is paying journalists off. The toxicity, hatred, and sheer amount of disdain from Epic’s developers and journalists has been abnormal. I wouldn’t be surprised if one of you was hateful enough to shoot-up a gamer under the defense that he didn’t like Epic. It is…
So it’s fair to say that the horrendous reaction, the death threats etc. are a very bad thing and it sucks that the developers had to go through that. On the other hand, they were condescending dicks on their announcement of Epic store exclusivity and then did themselves few favors with their subsequent reactions.…
Although this situation has blown way out of proportion, that doesn’t change the fact that the developers had been (quite frankly) acting like assholes. They cried for two days straight, yet refuse to get off their high horse. “Please have a little perspective” he says yet stands by the abrasive attitude they’ve…
1. There is plenty of non-violent, non-racist critical feedback going their way (which the dev still responds to in a very hostile way) and it’s dishonest to categorize all of it as violent hatespeech,
You’re exhausting.
How about we stop pretending that this firestorm is about the Epic deal? It’s about the extremely condescending and derogatory manner in which the developer announced the deal and has replied to all manner of criticism since, no matter how polite the person asking the question has been. This is not about Epic, and…
This is kind of a bummer to read. Splinter and the (former) Gizmodo wants to be all about consumer rights and protecting workers.
The Ooblets devs deliberately taunted The Beast and poked it in the eye, so this was a predictable (and predicted) result. Maybe it’ll lead to more sales from the publicity.
The majority of complaints that I have read online have been respectful and brought up very valid reasons on why the epic store is a no go and why the developers of Ooblets did very poorly in the PR department.
They were being dicks about it when announced. A simple none condescending announcement would of been nice.
Not a single person believes that the issue at hand stems from having to install the epic games store.
