You might have bumped in to my grandfather then. He designed, helped build and installed the engine in it. I can't remember if it was this one od the 1950s one that the car owner pulled the motor out and put it in his personal car after the race because he liked the engine so much.

Any engine work needs to have the cab pulled but a decent mechanic can do it in an hour and it is MUCH easier to do major work that way. Minor stuff is still pretty easy without pulling the engine.
