Jesus, that's terrible. I dated a guy whose family was the first family in GA to auction/own vast swaths of slaves. His attitude was "yeah, it happened, it was awful, we're not proud of it." I don't know how anyone could think that there is anyone to actually justify slavery.

You're kidding, right? Miss America has constantly policed their contestants' morality.
