It can't be that fucking hard to find a symbol unrelated to a failed secession over the right to own human beings. If you can't find a symbol of your heritage other than that, then maybe your heritage is fucking garbage.

Sorry that you don't get how it's the same as posting a Swastika in a Jewish neighborhood.

Visit any Civil War battlefield, last time I checked there's memorials to the Confederate solider too. Should we tear those down while we're at it?

Why does it seem like every public expression of "Southern Heritage" is related in some way to a war fought over the right to treat other human beings as property? Fucking amazing coincidence, that is.

Have you actually seen anyone trying to make other symbols of Southern culture into symbols of slavery, or are you just whining?

Um, I'm pretty sure that celebrating the flag that fought for the side to maintain slavery kinda does mean you are racist. There are thousands of ways you can celebrate being Southern without the Confederate flag.

I am not racist I am just really proud that my ancestors fought bloody battles killing their fellow Americans for the right to enslave, torture, and beat human beings.

Exactly most southerners didn't own slaves. And that 'most' was tricked by the few rich slave owners into fighting and dying for their right to own slaves under the guise of 'states rights' and saber rattling nationalism.

I'm a Southerner and my family has lived in the same rural area for over 200 years. If there is a symbol to show the pride of being Southern, the confederate flag isn't one of them. Plain and simple. You want to show pride? Feed people who aren't from the South BBQ, have them listen to bluegrass, blues, or country,

Nada, zero, zip. He looks like he's in the uncanny valley.

Benedict Cumberbatch does nothing for me, you ladies can have at him.

Well, if you just think of gay people as...people...it all becomes clear.

Did the fact its from the Onion tip you off?

And I thought they had found this several years ago. I remember reading a very similar finding. We are finding more cancers earlier but we are not improving survival rates. Because apparently many of those small cancers/lumps never needed to be treated. The ones that kill you grow so fast that they can pop up

Kirsten Schaal was by far the best thing on Big Fat Quiz of the Year 2013.
