I just hope to encourage the people who are on my side to think a little more rationally than this. Getting invested in the idea that some minor celebrity magically has the power to sway elections on his own is just another excuse not to do any work to try to fix the situation the country is in.

Is there any evidence that he generated any money for anything? Remember that you are replying to an article about someone who explicitly said he isn’t interested in donating his own money to the charity he is associated with.

I just don’t think it really matters WHY you give money/time to charity...it all amounts to the same thing in the end, regardless of the intent.
