The level of risk to the under 5 crowd from COVID is extremely low. Much lower than many other diseases they already were at risk of getting that didn’t prompt the CDC to use emergency powers.

People who can’t be vaccinated yet ( under 5) and those at high risk (like immunocompromised) are asking for more mitigation in places that they have to be in order to live their lives, especially if those places are crowded. Think transportation, grocery stores, medical facilities.

I do think we need to move away from the gender binary in sports and have categories based on physical ability or size, like in boxing, etc. It doesn’t make sense to try to fit all of humanity’s gender and physical diversity into two outdated categories.
