I think adding Alia in more than they did in a vision might have been too much for most audiences. I understand why they made that decision, and I think it’s a relatively easy rectification in Part 3. They’re building her own specialness without having to have a child actress be creepy AF. 

Exactly. Chani has zero agency in the books, which is probably a symptom of the time it was written. She’s just kinda like “Oh, I love Paul, so whatever he decides must be best.”

This change is important, because she’s the only one who sees Paul’s authoritarian streak as dangerous, and enough people missed the point of Herbert’s takedown of figures like Paul in Dune that he wrote Messiah specifically for that purpose.

Chief is alone with a voice in his head for 99.9% of Halo. There’s no way they do a whole series of Pablo Schreiber grunting.
