It was a long time ago...

I didn’t buy my first new car will well into my into my ‘30's so, I agree with you.  I see this on reddit. The relentless drive to buy new by people who can’t really afford it.

It’s exposure to air that degrades fuel. Store it in a sealed container and it’ll last practically forever. Modern cars, the fuel systems are fairly well sealed. You’ll get a check engine light if they leak air. Fuel in cars lasts much longer than it used to because of the sealed fuel systems.

I certainly believe it’s an inevitable change. Just as programmers are going to be sidelined by new AI code generators. You have to keep in mind that this will kill professions of mainly low/mid level artists. The kinds that work in video games while the big names will continue to make money. Look at music today, the

Smart move.  Once you cash out, it doesn’t matter what happens to the husk as long as they can’t pin it on you.

The environment was great. Driving the motorcycles were great. Even the zombies were great. Where it fell down was the plot and the main character. I really didn’t like “St John”. When I don’t like the MC, it’s hard for me to like the game. I simply don’t want to play a stupid, whiny, criminal biker.

I did say they were trigger happy. The second cop should go to jail. You and I know it won’t happen though.

You’re conveniently ignoring the fact the cops arrived soley to prevent the man from doing self-harm and he instead ends up dead.

I believe the cops are a too quick to shoot but that doesn’t mean they’re always too quick to shoot. If someone is running up on you with a knife in hand, shooting is justified. I don’t care why the person is doing it. Whether he’s sick or suicidal doesn’t matter.

They all live on, on Usenet. A place few know about anymore.

If this was local I’d pick it up. No OBD2 so, getting through emissions tests is a breeze. Pretty easy to work on. Could be a decent track car beater.

He made $10 million and had to pay back $2.5 million in fines and served no jail time. Seems like a winning business model to me.

It might be a smart choice. I wonder if all the different car companies will continue to exist in an EV future.   How many cell phones makers are still left? I believe it’ll be the same. There’s just won’t be that many car companies in the future.  I’m surprised Nissan is still hanging on.

I’d buy a Panasonic car. It would be solid and unimaginative but reliable as the day is long. I like to buy used Toughbook laptops. Depreciation curves are steep. New for $5000 and $1000 when sold used a year or 2 later. They don’t have the best performance but I’ve never had one break or wear out.

So we should make an effort to educate people about financial decision-making at the same time we should be curbing predatory lending practices via regulation and there’s a laundry list of ways we could do that.

That’s really what’s behind the “great resignation”. It’s become clear to many that that only way to get a significant pay increase is to leave for greener pastures. People who change jobs every 2 years are averaging twice the income increase of people who stick around.

You’re right.  They could come down in price but they haven’t yet.

Good driver training too. We don’t have that. Most states don’t even have car safety inspections.

You probably don’t remember the first CD player. At the time it was the most complicated device ever sold generally to people (not including a car) and a cheap one was $350 in 1984 dollars. By the time CD’s were done, they cost nearly nothing. You could buy a portable player for $30 at walmart.

Agree with you. No mention of distracted driving which is where I think all the new deaths are coming from.
