This could be an opportunity. Someone could sell countermeasures against this system then sell out to dumb money before the government decides to punish the companies making the bypass systems.

I just don’t care about the rest of the world.

What’s wrong with the eyeball test?

I don’t know about “frequently”. I just had a 60 mile drive this morning. Saw at least 4 aggressive drivers. They came up fast, then left.

She was put in harms way and harm found here. Yes, the driver was at fault for hitting her but, putting her out where she could even be hit is on whoever setup the shot.

It’s not like god sent the law down. It’s something made by humans to control other humans. More often than not I try to obey it but, I’m not going to hell if I drive 5 over. Most cops don’t even notice if you’re driving 5 over. I’m white so I get the benefit of the doubt in my police interactions too.

I can just move out of their way of the aggressive drivers. On the other hand the hyper-millers are blocking traffic and going slower than everyone else. I don’t like either one but I prefer the aggressive types who go and stay gone.

Carbon emissions can be recaptured and re-cycled. There are already pilot programs out there. Time, you can never get back.

I’m neither aggressive nor a hyper-miler. I’ve taught my children to drive 5 over to be polite (except in town where the chance of getting caught is higher). I follow that rule myself.

Yeah they made the redundant sensor optional. Boeing purposely mislead the FAA. The fact nothing was really done about it is certainly a terrible example of regulatory capture.

Also, for the sake of playing devil’s advocate, being a dick in traffic with the intention of burning let fuel and creating less pollution is less dickish than creating extra air and noise pollution that affects those not driving.

I prefer aggressive drivers to these hypermillers. At least the aggressive dicks aren’t trying to purposely slow me down.  Assholes but not bothering most people beats Assholes who bother everyone else following them.

My first though that this was pretty dumb too. Better would have been to let the car discover which wheels had the most traction when climbing the hill. My old GX470 did this.  You could feel the car transferring power from wheel to wheel in the snow.

Airplane software has 100% testing coverage though. Car software doesn’t. Airplanes often have built in redundancy. I know Lexus used to do that back in the ‘90's. Most cars don’t though.  I’ve wondered if autonomous cars would one day be governed by an organization modeled after the FAA. A organization that can set

“Because it’s a ford”. I just watched a video about failing Bronco steering racks. Ford installed some weak assed racks that fail when you upsize the tires. This on a vehicle that’s supposedly trail ready. They fail to the point you lose steering.

$3,347 /month

People willing to take out $30K loan for a toy like a plane aren’t poor people. How much does it cost to park your plane at the airport? How about affording $6/gal av-gas and required maintenance?

If you drive legally, it probably has little impact. If you’re out on the track going 140 mph, it might make a difference. I mean none of the things that make the R an R really change normal street driving if you’re not pushing the edge of legal driving all the time.

Here in VA non-stock sounding exhausts have been illegal for many years. It’s become a tool for the cops to selectively harass people they don’t like. Old dudes on the Harley’s or bro-dozers get a pass. If you’re under 25 or black, it’s justification for a pre-textual stop.

I’d have probably migged/stick welded a big nut onto the end of the filter base so I could connect a real socket to it. Hell, I might weld a throw-away socket onto it.
