People like you just kill me. You want to put this soul-ly on individuals while completely absolving the car companies that hand 1000 hp cars to completely untrained buffoons.

That 16 year old down in Texas that mowed down the bikers was driving a powerful 5000+ lb truck his parents gave him. I’ve commented several times that ultimately it’s the parent fault this kid was handed a truck he was incapable of handling properly.
More bureaucratic red tape because somebody didn’t follow the current laws isn’t going to change with new laws.
If you want to solve this problem. Set a max power to weight ratio for street cars and stick with it. Maybe impose a programmed in maximum speed of 80 Mph. There’s just no reason these overpowered cars need to share the road with the rest of us just trying to make it home from work or the grocery store. I have to…
1. ABS module (this killed the car for me, as I could not pass inspection to update my plates).
I don’t believe any of that “under-stressed” nonsense. It’s just voodoo people do when they try to buy a cheap used car. Most cars are essentially idling through their lives. Cruising down the highway only takes 15-20 hp of the 100-200 hp most cars have so, almost all cars are “under-stressed”. I’d pick a car that…
All the cars you’re listing are simply garbage. You’re not doing your friends any favors recommending old domestic junk, as your friend with the Fuckus found out.
JD has a dealer and parts network second to none. They build a quality product too. I don’t like their stance on right to repair but, unless some legislation comes along to force them to open their tech, it makes sense for them to work this way. Car companies would lock out aftermarket repair if they could too. The…
Except one is blatantly anti-democratic, pro-authoritarian, and just attempted a coup...but sure, they’re both the same...
That’s not socialism in any way. I agree with you that that’s happening, people aren’t being paid a living wage but it’s because the law allows the corporations to act this way. Corporations only act for their own good. That’s to be expected. The only way to get them to act for the social good is to force them to,…
I hear what you’re saying. I vote in every election. Has it helped? Not in the slightest. The elites pick which of the two talking heads we’re allowed to vote for. It’s like a communist show election.
I tell my family there’s no substantive difference between the D’s and the R’s and nobody believes me. My son rails against the boomers and I point out most boomers are poor too. He won’t accept it. The split I see isn’t D versus R’s or boomers versus millennial. It’s rich against the poor.
Have you noticed the recent normalization of literally blaming all of your problems on fellow citizens that are different than you based on how they voted?
it’s really socialism dressed up in capitalism ideology.
The thing is my current JD lawn tractor, a 335 is 21 years old and still works fine. I rebuilt the front suspension recently since I neglected to keep it greased. Parts are readily available from any JD dealer or online. I’m skeptical most other brands still have OEM parts for their 20 year old lawn tractors.
It labor becomes too expensive, it’ll be off-shored or automated out of existence. There won’t be a reckoning because the current system works just fine for the elites who control the country.
This is my thought too. Even pre-covid, Elements were going for far more than KBB might indicate.
In a situation like this, I have dirt delivered to my house. No reason to damage a nice truck I’m still making payments on.
It’s how you end-run the Constitution. Lean on business to do the dirty work the Constitution won’t permit the government to do.
I’ve posited that the FICO score is our own “Social Credit” system not unlike the Chinese system. Honestly the more I compare China to the US, the more parallels I see. We just do it differently. Instead of a government run “Social Credit” score, we let companies do it using FICO. Instead of government mandated censors…
