GM is the captain of the ship though. I don’t care who made the batteries that go in my cars.  If it burns my house down, GM is who I’d sue.  GM can’t escape responsibility for burning down houses by pointing a finger at someone else. They’re the ones that should have been tracking battery problems.

I was just kinda kidding. I know some people like GM.

I don’t know, a Mach-E or something?

GM has fans? News to me. I thought they alienated all their potential fans.

On Wednesday afternoon, the NHTSA officially told used Bolt owners to park their vehicles outside and away from buildings whenever possible, and also recommended that Bolts not be left charging overnight.

Some of the body work on the 9-2X is unique to Saab. I had one for a short time. It was one of the best Suby’s I’d ever owned but if it’s a Saab specific part, it costs an arm and a leg to replace.

its a couple/few hundred for the part plus another few hundred for a dealer to code it in to the ECU...

It is listed as a lifetime part but they sell the part and it can be replaced as long as you don’t mind pulling the fuel pump. I replaced it on my 250,000 mile IS300. Didn’t seem to make a difference. The fuel pump on the other hand was worn out and not making consistent pressure.

The starter for the LT5 in the C4 Corvette ZR1 is under the intake manifold.

I have heard that if the electrics fail altogether and you slam the pedal to the floor that it’ll push through the electric sensor and directly pressurize the brake lines with foot power.

The alternator on my Fit is looking kinda raty. Kinda corroded. I was thinking about rebuilding it and powder coating the housing. Voltage regulator is just shy of $200. Brushes are cheap at $20. Rectifier is another $200. The whole alternator from Honda is $800.

Maybe. If the $20K Maverick even exists, which I doubt. Just because you can build a $20K maverick, that doesn’t mean Ford will ever ship them to dealers. I have a feeling the $20K number is just a marketing exercise for a stripper truck that won’t get built. Sort of like the cheapest Tesla.

The scenario I was imagining was getting beaten to the ground and then the assailant picking something up from the environment to finish the job.

The laws are just guidelines though.  At the end of the day, you have to choose how important your life is. If I felt my life was at risk, I’d shoot first, then hire a good lawyer.

My feeling was “janky” too. On the on the other hand, beggars can’t be choosers. I’d go with jank over a 16,000 bill. The water temps and pressures seem pretty low in these things. I believe it’s 2psi versus 20 in a regular car.

This is exactly what I was implying. Turbine seems to be talking about someone getting a bloody nose. I’m thinking something more serious. I remember once when I was a kid seeing what looked like a ex-con beat the shit out of some scrawny guy over some minor traffic incident. It was a pretty unrelenting beating. I

It works sometimes. There was a guy recently who shot a mass shooter, stopping the massacre. Then the cops showed up and kill the hero. Dooh!

People get beaten to death all the time. They get beaten till they’re put in the hospital. Once a beating starts, where does it stop? Cinder block to the head? Curb stomp?

I agree that it’s not a solution to every problem. If someone wants you dead, there’s not much you can do. On the other hand, women tend to get the worst of it in road rage incidents where people get out of their car and approach. Training and mindset is a problem too. Wife and I have both gone shooting, we’re both

He’s wrong about what a “directors cut” is. That makes the whole discussion pointless. Movies are edited for length and the boring parts trimmed out before they hit the theaters. The directors cut typically is when they add the boring shit back in making it longer and often not as good.
