That state doesn’t seem to do safety inspections. Was this really a temporary repair or was it a permanent fix for the truck?

I stopped reading car mags 10 years ago. Even Top Gear magazine. The internet is simply a better source of information.
That’s seriously ugly.
Not the $20K they’re touting either.

They claim the belts are safe. That doesn’t mean they actually are safe.
Cam bearings maybe?
It’s pretty information lite. Pressure sensor fell off/broke either because it was installed poorly or because it was the cheapest one on Rock Auto.
I’ll take ANY mechanical issue, including a complete re-wiring over rust. As long as I can get a copy of the wiring diagram, I’m good.
This. I might check the oil pressure. If the oil pressure is good, your bearings are still good.
It wouldn’t be a rust bucket though. There’s a good chance this thing is simply a parts car at this point. It depends on the condition of the engine and tranny. Might be worth it for them alone.
instances of smoking fees seem to have increased after Hertz’s bankruptcy filing. Hertz is more likely taking a harsher, zero-tolerance police towards potentially dirty cars than looking to charge erroneous fees, however.
It makes sense in that the youth aren’t the ones buying new cars. As the story points out, peak car buying age seems to be 53.
Agreed. I don’t dislike it but that might be because I’m an old too. I don’t particularly like the metal strip thing in the interior but this thing is completely conservative.
My point is I’d probably not buy a car from a cheapskate who is scamming CL. I see cars in the parts section and just ignore them. I’m not requiring someone to spend money but, I don’t do business with scammers. If someone scams CL to save $5, that’s probably just the tip of the iceberg.
If he hadn’t dragged the guy, he could have probably gotten away with the old “feared for my life” thing. After all his truck was his house.
Peltomaa later died and Campbell was arrested and charged with second-degree murder and first-degree kidnapping. He’s noted as having prior felony convictions and as a result, wasn’t even supposed to have a gun in the first place.
My last car on CL sold within a day. I certainly know it’s possible to turn into a shit-show. I make them text me first before I answer the phone and/or I just use email. I don’t use my regular phone either. I use a google voice number when I list something so I can process it on my PC.
1. Lots of people have been listing full vehicles on CL in the auto parts section since CL now charges $5 to list a vehicle. Listing it in auto parts skirts this rule.
As the owner of an older Miata, I have no idea why anyone would want to replace its lines with a retro fiberglass unit.
