I suspect the speed disparity between the two vehicles was nowhere close to 60 MPH based on the damage. They certainly didn’t slam into something static while doing 60 MPH. Without knowing more, it appears the airbags operated correctly and were not needed.

Though would the ladies have noticed or cared? Me, I drove a used k-car, so I was uncool on every level. But I dreamed of driving a 70s muscle car. I suspect that would not have made me more interesting to the ladies, only the fellow wannabe motorheads.

I think the point back then was to look cool but not necessarily be cool.  Remember all your car buddies knew deep down it was a POS, the high school ladies for the most part did not.  Point in your favor.

There’s a good chance that the Norton will be more reliable. Royal Enfields have the reputation of looking like an old school bike and behaving like them, too.

I’ve had a ‘73 for about 20 years. That’s tempered glass. I have yet to see one break but that is my biggest fear.

it doesnt help traffic at all. the only thing that does is eliminating stops. 190 in central tx went from 2 lanes to 3 and rush hour lasted just as long. then they built a loop around copperas cove and you can barely tell when people get off work. they also changed the exits from ft hood and made the exits turn into…
