Probably because vehicle safety has gone pretty much as far as it can go without adding absurd, bullshit laws that raise costs in a way inconsistent with their benefit. Do you know how much money it costs to add tire pressure monitoring to a car, now mandated? (A lot) Do you know what the safety benefit is?…

I’m not going to judge her. I don’t know all the facts. But let’s say, hypothetically, she HAD committed a crime and would be sentenced to prison. Or offered sterilization in lieu. I can totally appreciate that some people would think that’s awful but in my head it makes perfect sense.

The alternative would is "you're doing prison time." I suppose I'd have to weigh the prison sentence versus how much I value my hands. How is an additional choice unethical? I haven't been faced with either, for what it's worth.
