I’m really fascinated by the relationship these fans have with these performers/products and the fantasies projected up both— especially when they are politicized as symbols of authenticity and revolution.

This isn’t satire. People play way too loose with that word’s meaning.

It’s not satire if it doesn’t provide any kind of counter-narrative that is intended to remedy whatever is being contested.

We are looking at writers and commenters who don’t care much about dismantling the current economic system. Rather they want better access to it. Then there are the essentialist ethno-nationalist positions.
