That pace - on a mountain bike - on gravel. Holy shit!

Only one joystick? The 2600 originally came with two controllers. I used the Wico joysticks because the CX40's were crap that would break easily. I still have mine. Better off just using a 2600 emulator on a Raspberry Pi.

Pilot was probably from the Navy. Then again, SNA has a very short runway and you need to land quick and slam on the brakes.

Of course he’s a victim. That’s the world today.

This happens here in the SF Bay Area whenever the road gets remotely damp, let alone in heavy rain. During the first real rain, I stay off the roads. We have very poor drainage in many places that can barely handle 1-2 days of heavy rain.

Yeah I had some experiences like that as well, but they pretty much just had me sit in with another grade instead. I wish they did more in-depth projects as that would’ve been great.

You can actually make out the cat’s head dropping inside, which makes it all more funny! Imagine that ad running today?

Yeah - you too?

I loved the Ford Sportka commercials - hilarious!

Precisely - it hit the areas that really needed the water. I was hoping for more rain towards Lake Mead to get that reservoir filled up. On the whole it wasn’t all that bad - we had worse rain in January here in the Bay Area.

I was labeled “gifted” (they still use that term today???) back in grade school. Those myths are pretty accurate from my experience.

Sandpaper is a mixed bag. You also have to get the angle correct otherwise it won’t cut correctly. Better to get a relatively inexpensive diamond stone. This is a video from James Wright detailing how to sharpen scissors:

I remember seeing one house before we bought our current place. It easily needed $100K+ worth of work. They put all of the “updates” into a fancy kitchen but decided that the rest of the house didn’t matter. I saw all kinds of issues with it. I ended up overhearing some flippers talking with the realtor, who quickly

In some places (especially here in San Francisco), the permits alone would take 4-6 months, if not longer for any major work. 4-6 weeks? HA HA HA HA HA!!! No chance. I’ll take an old functional home over a more modern home that you can’t live in.

I watched TOH when Norm Abram was a regular. Always a good show and Tom Silva is awesome.

The half-done technique is very useful - I’ve done that on several occasions.

We tend to just flush twice after a big dump. I figure we’re using less water than the previous toilet we had, and provides additional water to push it down the pipe. I’ve heard a lot of contractors complaining about people using way too much toilet paper, which causes clogs far away from the toilet because not enough

It’s very common in Asia to put toilet paper in the trash can, and not to flush it down the toilet.
