That picture provides some context - I can see a higher speed limit in rural areas where the school is way back from the main road. Usually the schools (at least here in CA) tend to be next to the main road.

In some places, they may accept credit cards, but only LOCAL cards, not international cards. I used to work with a software engineer who was also an oncall pilot for American. He didn’t take any flights for 24 hours if he had a drink. He did mention that some pilots did fly drunk, although thankfully they were in a very small minority.

I’ve been riding my bike a lot more recently now that we have some better weather. It’s been great and I’ve noticed my legs are getting stronger and I’m able to get a nice cardio workout.

Sedona is the only place on that list that I would even seriously consider. Probably too “new age” for me, but it’s up in the mountains so the weather isn’t like Phoenix. For vacations, we have plenty of cheaper alternatives here in CA and I don’t need to fly anywhere.

I remember watching Muldowney and the Force sisters a lot - they were kicking a lot of ass back in the day. Always fun to watch. Better than Danica ever was.
