You can’t roll dress shirts, but I used this trick and it works like a champ:

Kind of like the 3-day stopover that IcelandAir offers, only it’s forced on you as opposed to being optional.

Hong Kong airport has a very nice pay lounge where you can enjoy food, drinks, Internet access, and even get a 2-hour rest or massage. It made a 6 hour layover much easier to deal with. I got a shower, rest, plenty of food to eat and I was relaxed for the flight to SFO.

The best times based on my experience:
1) BEFORE you get on the plane
2) After takeoff but before the drink cart starts heading down the aisle
3) While people are finishing up their meal
4) 90 minutes before landing

I’ve found red-eye flights are good when flying long distance and it also saves on a hotel room depending on your itinerary. However, if you can’t sleep well on a plane (myself included) then it’s a problem.

If all else fails, just use IrfanView. It just works and I’ve been using that for years for reading RAW images. The irony is that Adobe’s crappy software can’t read the latest Canon RAW images without whinging, while using an out-of-date version of IrfanView loads it up without any problems.

Yeah it helps, but typically there’s very little to discuss based on past experience. If there was really a problem when I was on vacation they should’ve dealt with it and I just need to follow up.

In San Francisco we have a couple of markets that are pretty good:
1) Civic Center Farmer’s Market
2) Stonestown Mall Farmer’s Market
3) Alemany Farmer’s Market

Don’t forget fees for baggage, oxygen and probably the toilet.

Agreed! Unfortunately they’re all too quick to immediately blame drivers when in reality, there are a lot of factors at play. Everything from education, poor road design, visibility issues, situational awareness and more are all part of the equation.

Easy solution: Pull the front of the diaper off slightly to let the cold air get in, and then wait a minute. Let them pee into the already dirty diaper. This way you don’t get wet or end up with a huge mess. Worked every time. YMMV.

Fuck Frontier. Seriously - it used to be a great airline back in the day but given their issues with delays, crappy service, charging for everything but air, etc. you’re better off on Southwest by the time you factor in bag charges.

All of the top 10 airports are also on the coasts (except for Chicago O’Hare), as they’re often used as hubs for Asia/Europe due to their location. I’m surprised that Dallas and Atlanta didn’t show up higher, but probably because they’re fortress hubs for American and Delta respectively.

Yes - I reuse old jars for this purpose.

I had 65 guests total and we still had plenty of leftover food and booze. I ended up donating it to the church because they were hosting a homeless shelter the next evening. I’m sure they ate very well.

$34K for an “average” wedding? Damn!
