I know people who are responsible gun enthusiasts who refuse to be NRA members, largely because they’ve become an extremist organization that just spends money in Congress.

Oh yes - we have full documentation that it’s a home office and nothing else, complete with pictures. So far no problems. Yes, it’s a HUGE audit flag but as long as you document it you should be fine. However, YMMV.

I often wondered about that myself, especially if you’re doing “work” on a tourist visa somewhere.

If you have a designated “office” in your house you can also write off the costs for utilities, etc. on your taxes, based on the total square footage of your house. Check with your CPA about this though - we do this every year as my wife works from home when needed.
