Seriously, I met Bill Koch many years ago at a cross skiing festival in Maine that was sponsored by LL Bean. He was a genuinely nice and down-to-Earth guy to talk with and was all but happy to share some of his experiences.

AirBnB is huge here in SF. There are lots of places where the owners live in the home and rent out rooms for tourists. We have the same problem as NYC with rent control, plus we have much limited rental stock.

I agree with Acura - the dealer near me was pretty nice. Lots of coffee, donuts, pastries, bagels, even fruit. Get my car worked on, get breakfast too at the same time. Yup - my sister is in the same boat as you. Twin girls, 1 boy, small dog, definitely minivan territory. Sure their minivan is fugly but it works and is reasonably functional.
