Everything witty I have just isn’t appropriate. Fuck this guy.

Abby Something.

I had no idea Melania could speak 6 languages. Very impressive. And she married someone who can barely speak one.

Does Melania Trump have facial expressions?

¡Ay Caramba!

It doesn’t really look like that screen is anywhere close to being within view or earshot of the White House. It just looks like it’s somewhere on the mall.

Trump opponent: “Yes! This video PROVES that Trump is a sexual predator!!”

Trump was a star, so they let him do it. He could do anything.

It will never not be mind-blowing that this hurt Billy Bush more than it did Tr*mp.

Unfortunately, too many people didn’t give a shit about this back then...I’m not sure what they’ll think now. This is one of those it’s-OK-if-a-Republican-does-it situations, I think.

No because Austin Powers is from the 60s. 😂

Madeline Petsch is so terrific. She is so deft at walking that thin line between nasty and genuinely sympathetic (and, of course, occasionally teetering on one side of that line or the other when necessary).

I do not want to hear who Betty and Veronica want paired up. I want Betty and Veronica, themselves, paired up. And putting tanning lotion on one another. Please.

Evangelion is unabashedly one of my favorite pieces of media, but I would never recommend it to someone new or tepid about anime. There’s a lot of tropes left from the era, and damn does it have a slow middle arc, and Shinji is a pain in the ass unless you’re willing to dive into the character or connect with him.

Actually that’s a bloody ridiculous analogy. “If you haven’t given the Big Bang Theory at least half a season, you havent given it a fair shake” would be a better way to put it. You posited watching 132 episodes. We’re talking about a 26 episode series, beginning, middle, end. BBT is still going, Bebop has been done

You can’t just stop reading Pride and Prejudice halfway through and say, “Well, I tried, man, but it was boring and not for me.”

I had not seen a bunch of other mecha series first. To me, I can see that “anime about anime” thing. I also think you can pick up quite a bit even without that, or beyond that. The themes of family, growing up, technology, being driven, individualism vs. the larger whole, so many of those themes seem universal. That

Well, good/terrible news! There is not only the series, there’s the movies that sort of re-imagine it, and then the sort of reboot that definitely re-imagines it. So there are three chances to love/hate it in different ways!

It’s American in origin; thus, it is not anime.

Just to be “that” guy, Avatar is definitely heavily influenced by anime and eastern culture, but it was an American produced/written series and was made for US audiences, which makes me think, when you complain about things like word choices or rhythm of speech putting you off, you’re maybe perhaps approaching anime
