Also that Amulet’s... uh, amulet is passed down through generations. I think the very family-oriented story that they’re telling in this show, and in particular with Kamala’s maligned (and probably misunderstood) great grandmother, that this just fits more. So it’s kind of cool that they’re keeping the major character…
the experiences that tenser experiences are trans experiences. it’s not really ‘stretching the metaphor’ if the first line that is said to this character is “there’s a new hormone in your system.” like... that’s what happens when trans people medically transition, it’s not a stretch if it’s obvious.

It is most definitely NOT “one of the best sci-fi movies of 2022.” It is the single best movie of 2022 regardless of genre and nothing else comes close.
